We have lived in the same house for almost a decade now and we have not made any changes to the house ever since. However, after ten long years, we finally decided to have the house renovated. We do not have enough money to hire an interior decorator so we decided to do it on our own. My mom was responsible for the layout and furniture and I am in charge of the walls and lighting. Having the walls painted is easy but buying lighting fixtures is a little bit difficult for me.
You see, as I’ve learned through the internet, not only do lighting fixtures come in a wide variety of styles they also serve different purposes. These purposes are classified as general, task and accent lighting. General lighting is for general illumination of an area while task lighting is usually more concentrated (often used for reading). Accent lighting is mainly intended for interior design or landscaping and is mainly decorative. I’m not really good at figuring out what to buy for general and task lighting so I asked a friend to help me out. For accent lighting however, fine art lamps proved to be helpful. My friend also suggested that I buy from top manufacturers like kichler lighting or hinkley lighting. This interior decorating stuff is not that easy, thank goodness my friend is there to help me.
